I live in Florida and want to build an aluminum frame. I have never TIG welded, but I have used a MIG welder and have access to a MIG welder with a spool gun. Is it possible to weld the frame with a MIG welder?

from what i have seen of mig ti's used on thicker materials and is a lot more messy than tig . just practice with some thin stuff and see if you have
control, it seams a bit bulkey for the nooks and crannys on this frame

oldguy, have you experimented with AL welding yet? I'm in the same boat as you concerning welders. I have a nice little Miller gas MIG welding setup . I
found a couple of sites with good info on AL welding and the links are below. I think you can do some fine work with a good mig outfit. I've welded a lot
of exhaust systems with mine so I don't think fine detail welding with mig is impossible.
